Welcome to the Barracuda Forum and welcome to owning one of the coolest 90’s mountain bikes made. Be sure to check out the Barracuda Lore section in the forum to update you on the history an relationship to Yeti Bicycles. I too have an A2R and it is my go-to bike for thrashing trails here in Austin, TX.
Sincerely,

NiceJust waiting for the welder dude to become available. Decided to modify my swingarm for spools. He can weld that as well. This is a tapped 6061 tube installed all the way through each side of the drilled hollow swingarm.I worked pretty hard over the Holidays to finish bracing the frame in preparation for the welder.- October 15, 2015 at 6:48 pm

Looks like an 18 from here. The air box on an RZ incorporates the battery box. To eliminate the air box, I cut the battery box off of it. The battery box gets its front mount from the air box. With the air box gone, I built a bracket to stabilize the front of the battery box.The last set of fairing brackets. It stabilizes the rear of the mid fairing to the frame top tube.Wow.. That thumper is awesome D..@neo_pop_71 wrote:
Here is a cool TT build that pulled the same front end as yours, plenty of photos and good description of the build. Check it out: http://motorcyclephotooftheday.com/tag/thumper/
Next is the rear lower bracket. I built two stays from 3/4″ x 3/4″ square tube, welded a nut on the back and tack welded to the frame. I made a bracket similar to the factory FZR brackets by shaving off of the 1″x1″ square tube.I have been working on finishing the fairing mid and lower brackets. Lots of fab, lots of fitting. But it is coming along. The first image is the front lower fairing frame stays made out of 1″x1″ steel tubing, then tack welded to the frame. The second is the mock up with the lower fairing. I drilled it and welded a 6mm nut and moved to the next bracket.- September 15, 2015 at 12:09 pm

Basically a tear down, refinish and rebuild. I need to check the engine lubrication as it hasn’t been registered since 69 and don’t know when it’s been run last. But that being said, the oil in the engine right now looks new. I think I could fire it up right now but I don’t want to risk seizing it up by coagulated oil in the passages. Also have a Trail 70 to do prior to the CB77. So yea, the Super Hawk will be on the back burner.I’ve been trudging along with this project and thought I would post an update: I have been working on securing the mid fairing to the frame this past weekend. Had to fab some brackets and weld to the frame. Getting things level is the hardest part for me. I bought a really cool Craftsman laser level system at a garage sale and has really helped me out. I have 3 more sets of mounts to fab to complete this phase.I have been working on the steering head the past week. I had to create a different fork stop as the factory stop allowed too much travel, allowing my brake reservoir to hit the gauges. Also had to redesign the steering lock as the factory RZ lock stop didn’t mate with the FZR600 top tree lock. As well as fabricating a mount for the fairing bracket. This was my first attempt at welding and can tell you my technique sucked.
