Went to check out the Houston bike today and passed. It was in pretty rough shape, needed a lot of work before I would ride it any distance and the guy didn’t want to go below $250. Looked to be pretty much all original equipment, but it had been in a Texas garage for a long time so anything that wasn’t metal was dried out and falling cracking. I don’t mind rebuilding, but starting at $250 eats up a lot of my rebuilding budget. I’ll keep looking.

5′ 11″, 30″ inseam. I think you are right, the Austin bike is probably too big. I’m going to look at the 16″ bike here in Houston tomorrow afternoon. I have no idea what size my old bike was, so that should give me a better idea.

Understood about wanting more and more–we have 5 bikes in the garage right now, and my wife is a little skeptical about my “need” for another one. If this Houston bike isn’t right, I’ll probably patiently watch for a while to see what comes up.

I called him yesterday, he said he still had it. Thanks for the offer though. I may drive over to Austin on Sunday if I don’t hear anything from the guy here in Houston. After looking at bikes all week, I’m dying to get out for a ride today.

I’ll give it a try, the guy hasn’t gotten back to me. Would love to get another A2L, so I might watch the classifieds for a while to see if one pops up. It would be crazy if my old bike actually turned up.

Also saw this one on Craigslist in Austin: http://austin.craigslist.org/spo/2620806298.html. (tried to attach a pic, but I’m not sure it worked). Called about it, the guy said it was an A2E but the frame geometry looks wrong to me based on some of the pictures I’ve found on this site–the top tube on the A2Es are usually more sloped, but maybe its an earlier year.

Wow, thanks guys. One the ebay bikes is here in Houston, I’ll go check it out this weekend. 16 inch frame, so I’m not sure it will fit, but I also have no idea what size my old bike was.
