    I like it, I PMed will. Does it have a 1 1/8th head tube?

    by the way you probably saw on another thread that I am rebuilding up my first MTB an 86 Schwinn sierra. I would like to trim it in red ano. I’m watching a ringle stem on ebay but was wondering if you had anything like a seatpost or stem that you were looking to sell to a good home. I would like the stem to be on the longer side since the frame is actually somewhat short for me.

    I scanned in all of the frame decals and emailed them to a lot of guys on this site. CTK actually made replicas for his resto project from them. I’d be glad to send them your way if you PM me your email address Unless Mark already forwarded them too you. And welcome to the site.

    Thanks for the help guys. I have to break it down clean everything and reassemble but today I pulled the wheel off my wifes bike, threw the cranks I had on my cuda tuned the derailers and took it for a quick spin. the cassette on the wheel that was on it was sliding in and out so I’ll have to pull that off and see what’s goin on there. I was glad that my wifes bike is a 7spd as well, I was dying to just take it for a quick ride.

    I knew you’d have the answer Neo. I don’t see the seatpost size on mombat but at least I know the year now. Thanks again.

    I think it is Mix, It must have been a downhill bike based on the suspension seat, in later years bike makers switched to using a frame mounted rear shock. Also since hikers weren’t used to seeing bikes on the trails back then the giant bell was to warn them that you were hammering down the train and they better watch out!

    I agree with Don, This is a lot more than collecting bikes. I didn’t even find this site untill the beginnings of the new incarnation so for someone like me I’m extra grateful that you put in the time and effort to rebuild instead of just shelving it or I would never have had the chance to meet people who love Barracudas as muchas I do. Well done and much appreciated!
