1995-19" Barracuda-model unknown-MAKE OFFER

Post by Blitzclyde »

I am reluctantly offering my 19" Barracuda frame, Rock Shox Judy XC fork, original A-Headset, and stem,(unknown manuf). The frame has a serial number stamped on the bottom bracket; 3 95 215. This doesn't coincide with the the production serial number formats listed on the website, but that's what it is. I have since updated the Judy XC fork with "Hard" steel springs from Wings Suspension. The frame has a seat tube length of 21". The original finish is well worn. The original, integral seatpost clamp was starting to crack the seat tube, so I removed the integral clamp and used a add-on seatpost clamp. I am a machinist by trade, so it isn't a butcher job. I also converted the frame to V-brake use, so I drilled and tapped the rear brake cable guide to accept a cable housing stop. I am attaching some photos of the bike when it was assembled and can provide photos of the actual parts for sale to anyone who shows an interest. I'm not looking to make a bunch of money on this, I would just like to see it go to an enthusiast. If there isn't any interest through this website, I will post the items on Ebay.
Thanks for looking at the posting!

Thanks for the interest, Ahrenv,
I will post some photos of the bare frame when I get time in the next couple of days.

I tried to send a PM, but it won't let me since I'm a newbie.

Re: 1995-19" Barracuda-model unknown-FRAME CRACKED

Post by Blitzclyde »

After pulling parts from the frame and a closer inspection, it appears that there is another crack in the seat tube near the split in the rear/top of the tube. I wouldn't feel right profitting from a sale, so the frame will probably become wall art in the garage.
Thanks for the interest.

That looks like a deal worth investigating. I swapped my build to a 2004 Stumpjumper and am much happier with the frame geometry, plus I can upgrade to discs when I can afford new wheels and brakes. Some of the trails around here are straight up, then straight down for 4 miles. Confidence level wanes with rim brakes for me. Still might contact the guy and see if he still has it.
Thanks for the info/link.
