Wish I had changed the triple on my son’s 24″ wheeled bike….If I use that one to see if my Daughter likes riding offroad I should be able to put a bmx crankset on there with the 8 spd rear RIGHT?? Plus I like the fact you are working with somewhat of a 29ner wheeled bike…you will be running a 26″ wheel on rear correct? I was thinking about building a 29ner or another Fs bike…I like the thought of a 29ner hardtail…What do you guys Think about it or do you think it is all fad,how does a 29ner compare to a Fs???

There were a few size 12 that came up while I was looking for parts for my Son…He loves my Cuda and died when I showed him a picture of Sithlords (I love that comp also I must say) but I did that 13″ Trek for him because he will out grow it in a few years and if it was a Cuda it would kill me to let it go…His next bike if he stays in love with Cudas and the call of disk brakes and long travel does not change his mind ….well then you know that I will be on the look out for a Cuda for him.

But I for one will be waiting for the build pic’s to see how it all works out for the final show. If you plan on leaving it ridgid have you thought of the gearing as well like a 1x ? or will you set up a normal 3 x ?. I know with my Son the front gearing gave him problems on his 24″ wheeled Mtb but with the Trek he is ok….did take a few years of riding to get it though.

Man I feel old now….still like to see the bikes you have built. And I know what you mean about giving the bikes away after you put your soul and hard earn cash into it so somebody gets a real good deal..but that is how things go…all of us look for the GOOD deal on a ride just the same….human nature. Have to do what makes you happy but Neo is right atleast for a bit of time you should hang on to your fav Cuda …never know when you would get the feeling to hop on a Mtb for a ride.

Good luck in the new rides you build and enjoy the ride…..Vinnie

😯 THUMP….the sound made as I hit the floor…then :? ….Then again I do tell my son,if it has wheels and pedals it is good no matter what the ride is made for. Hey if you are doing Bmx bikes and posting pic’s…..mind if I throw in a vote for a DG or first generation Profile.
Plan on keeping any oldies but goodies for the young ones when it is time for them to go for a ride.

When you were in town 5 years ago you could have stop into his new shop to say Hi…but now even that shop is gone and the new owners have moved Trailsport just south of that spot. Anyways glad to have you on the forum and can not wait to see the pictures of the new ride that you just bought.

Hi again Comet, the area you are talking about is where I am from and still live. I used both of Ted’s shops and wish I had bought the Cuda back when (was riding boring roadbikes at time) but then moved to good bikes and ended up buying Ted’s wifes frame after they stop selling Cuda’s…He sold the shop a few years back to spent time with family and ride more, but still shows up from time to time. And you are correct,he is a good person and does great work on bikes also..he built my rims for me about 12/13 years ago and they still run smooth and true. Anyways glad to know a fellow Cuda head knows some of my haunts and have enjoyed them as well.

Sorry to say Hardrock and Razorback closed down years ago…made me cry being that they were my favorite places to ride. But Alafia and Boyette have taking their place and Santos,Carter and Morris bridge area is still around.

Preparing for a epic ride I see…..RedBull gives you energy, your drink gives you courage so you go for the down hill on a hardtail 63mm travel bike….JUST DO IT!!!!
Shame you do not remember anything,I bet some good stories would have come out of that.
