That is what I have been doing, that is when I get the chance between the wife and kids and house duties! Playing with parts last night I found damage on the rear rim, plus the cassette body does not move and if I can not remove it from the hub it will be trash which means the only thing from the rear wheel that could be used is the cassette and Skewer. I will try a tire on the rim to see if it will seat . Need to use some PB blaster on the BB to remove, I hope that thing comes out being that it is worn out.

    Good luck with your project!

That is the fork..THANKS zoltanka79 ! Now I have year and model number….not sure what I will do with the things, not my style of fork and to rebuild for the bike would run the cost up which I want to keep on the lower side to sell..unless I part out. Jury is still out on the plan for this thing, but as said now I can check going price on these things so I have a clue.

PS…the other parts on the bike look much better that what the hardware on the forks do…plus they sound like water is in them yet the stachions are smooth and shine well.

That is the cool thing about bikes, when a little love is giving to them they can be a thing of beauty not to mention fun as hell to ride. And looking at your DIY bike repair stand I feel you are the type to show it hands on attention ! It is easy to walk into a shop and drop money on a bike, but to take one that has been beat a bit and turn it into something worth looking at…that is a great feeling.

” D ” you look at the picture of his stable of bikes against the fence and you will see that all of his bikes seat are set the same….I noticed that right off, but like you figured that is the way he likes it so who am I to say different. You guys hate Scram and I love it…grant you would NEVER catch me with anything under the top model because the low end SUCKS! RIDE ON T….Your bikes are badass even with the saddle tip down!!!!!

P.s…. If you look at some of the new saddles the nose is tip down to reduce pressure on the ” NERVES ” (if that is what they want to call it so be it ) while doing climbs or something like that.

I like v brakes more than the canti brakes but Neo posting pic’s of bikes he has built got me hung up on single speed bikes and in doing so I did a old specialized mtb frame and wanted to keep it somewhat vintage style ….nice QUIET ride….My wife hate it when I am staring at his build pictures because she just know that the squirrel is spinning the rusty old wheel !

One good thing about mine being a second generation…plus the cables are switched around and V-brakes. Looking at the pictures of early frames I thought the mount look different to mine. Sometimes trying to be different is a bad thing, because that old Specialized frame I used for my singlespeed has the canti cable arch like most of the bikes from that time and the cable run on it is very clean, the canti brakes just suck compared to the V’s on the Cuda….and if I had the chance to ride a bike with disc I am sure I would feel the same about the v’s. Evolution is funny that way!

Well I know that I’am not part of that group, the only thing I like about the Cuda bike is the frame and always felt that factory setups could stand improvement with aftermarket items, and that goes with more than just bikes. But I must say there are some very nice looking period correct Cuda here, yet I hope to see what you feel the bike should look like as you do rebuild pictures….best wishes on the rebuild!

I think a simple yoke cable with a rear cable hanger would work fine. The ends are the same, you would just cut out the mount in the center and it would be the same as the other brands make theirs.

Oh I ride and love being on it but as said, have always felt the need to stretch out just a bit more ! Do you use straight bars or bars with a little back rake to them?

Son and I went for a ride on the Pinellas trail yesterday with my old riding buddy who by chance is a National Rank Speed Skater…we got a laugh, my son ask if he would be able to keep up on his skates…well Eric end up pushing my son so he could hang with us on the ride and at times would chase down road bikes for a little fun…YEA my son was very quiet when we got back to the truck and Eric and I just laugh !
