Sometime in the past, a post was done on this model. Sorry would have to look over old post to remember what was said about it . That design has been done by a few different bike company and I have one of those being a Schwinn s30 sweetspot…it works for XC type riding but no way a big hit bike if that is what you like.

I know I keep a eye on mine having the Sid set at 80 mm travel with Comp made out of Easton tubes. But I have second generation and have notice that my head tube is larger than the older model….Question, could that have been their cure for the cracking head tube…would that not spread the force of the steering tube out over a longer run in the head tube…or worse ?

Is it safe…100 mm will not hurt you nor the bike, will it handle like those that design the frame had in mind NO ! Now that I think about it, the reason for the change in frame design was in part the longer travel put on bikes these days…you know how a lot of the frames now have the down tube where it has the funky bent so it goes straight into the head tube and BB…I read that makes a better weld there fore holding up to the stress from long travel…is it Bs just to sell bikes, I don’t know. I love modern rides also but with a vintage frame I feel you can only push updated parts to a point…fork travel being one that need be left in the past, but that is my thoughts..if you like the travel, so be it !

Hey glad to have somebody from my family home land ! I was born here but still have family there that I have never met, but hope to one day…Not really sure how close you are to my Mom and Dad’s birth place but I am Creole with ties to the Melrose Plantation in Natchitoches . That would be cool to ride my bike around the Adai Caddo Indian nation and area that Marie Coin Coin set up for my people.
Enjoy your times here, hope to hear tales of riding the home land from you !

Ok call me a puss….I wear my drysuit year round with my cavediving. Spring water here is around 72 deg. so what you get in I would say HELL NO !

Do not mean to be a smart ass but you do understand hypothermia and the fact that at those temps you are causing it to your body, always cracks me up when we are diving at a site where local folks go to swim and they are laughing about us in our suits, while we are looking at them shiver with blue lips…Now that I think about it don’t call me a puss, call me smart PLEASE ! ( you can add the ass to that D )

Sorry ” D ” , guess I word that wrong…I thought I read somewhere that Pacific was bought so all they had taking over moved to a new higher power. Funny how the crap bike companies have the most power and yes I understand why ! More cheap bikes are sold than real bikes. Did you hear about the mess Specialized started up about a name of a bike shop in Canada, because they have tons of power they thought they could push a little mom and pop shop around till the true power house step in….FUJI….Or should I say the parent company that owns Fuji, Subaru and a number of other things step in because they own the name and let Specialized lease the name for their road bike as well. Anyways they put their thumb down on Specialized and made them stop…they end up with black eye and a lot of fans turning away from them for being a bully !
