- in reply to: Klein Pulse Pro – $350 Good Deal???
Last time I heard ” Show me yours and I’ll show you mine ” I was a young kid playing SECRET games with a couple of neighbor hood girls..
But I will post my throw together bike that my buddies refer to as my Katty Perry bike due to the TAME color scheme !
This was last picture taking, but a few things have change…I have the yellow and red carbon time pedals on right now that I had laying around ( though both of my knee like the speedplay pedals on the Cuda much better ) and those tires had lay around so long they were falling apart , so I put some old ground control tires I had on..which suck..they are 1.9 so I can’t air down to much plus they suck for traction ….my out of shape worn body can spin them like a blown GTO with old red line tires….I need new rubber on it !
Black Lx canti brakes with Dia Come ss 7 brake levers ( near new looking ), Bontrager 120 stem,Deore XT cranks with Xt Octalink BB..32 tooth hive chainring / 18 tooth on rear, Lx hubs lace to Mavic rims( sorry can not remember model but they are low level ) , Race Face super lite flat handle bar with OURY grips ( gods gift to grips).
If I ever came upon a A2E in the green color with rigid fork ( love that one ) I no doubt would drop this frame and change parts over..though wheel set would need to be much nicer, plus a King Headset and Thomson seat post and stem….calm down Vinnie..sorry got excited.- March 7, 2014 at 4:38 am

….Oh trust me..I would (if it was my size) jump on that thing in a heart beat for a ride. But I must say when it comes to riding my bikes now..my cheap gas pipe rigid single speed has far more smooth ride than my beloved Comp with the shock on the front…Neo has turn me into a steel single speed loving fool that scream it out for all to hear..so that frame would turn me off after a few ruff rides .- March 6, 2014 at 9:55 pm

That model/era was made by Trek so you could not call it a collectible, and if you have read my post you would know that I am a Sram fan I would say no to that price but if they drop a bit…She is a sweet ride, but like our Cudas..out dated…I would say no higher than $200/ $225, unless you really want the older parts .I love my Avid brake levers, but those 9.0 would go with my Sram parts and look killer !

That is GREAT that your daughter will get out and do things, and do well at it…..my son has gone the way of the dork and addicted to computer games.
I did a post about my forks when I bought them off flea-bay. The picture of them for sale was taking while they were on a Cuda, so I made a comment on here to see if it was a member and sure enough it was kvojr selling the forks.
So far they have been good to me where as the Manitou cl mars I had on the bike had more flex and where hard to get my front tire on due to the fact that they were very narrow and I use a 2.1 on my front.
They are weight weenie type forks made for XC racing , which is another reason I need to get back into shape because I have parts on my bike that when bought had weight limits , not sure if that stuff is a gimmick !
They should work well and give a nice smooth ride for your daughter though I have notice I get fork stiction with the Sid over the Mars but to be fare the Sids are open while the Mars had boots over them so they stayed lube longer and did not pick up crud as easy.By the way, SORRY Chitown for the hi-jack !!!

Bit overboard…NEVER ! Can not wait to see the goods, the stock bikes are nice to look at on here but to me aftermarket parts with a little up date make a GREAT BIKE !- February 26, 2014 at 5:38 pm

😳 ….Geeee…Thanks for the kind words on my early Ross Comp ” D ” . And yes I did not buy mine from mail order during the blow out but right from the owner of the local Cuda dealer..as said it was the frame used by his wife as her race bike. I fell in love with Cuda bikes at his shop in the early 90’s and when I bought the frame in the late 90’s I did not know there had been a change till I join this site and learn more about the brand.- February 24, 2014 at 1:33 am

I think it would be funny to send a email to them saying how much their bike looks like a friends bike and state you are using pictures that he took of it…which would be the very same pictures. Down side, the person would have the email address that it came from, and I would not care for a person like this to have my email…Maybe I need to set up a burn email address Hummm.- February 19, 2014 at 2:01 pm

The Wild Hair looks sweet on paper, need to bring up a picture of one, the brand and name sound familiar so my guess is I have seen one and forgot. I must say with my S-30, I bought the thing then change a number of stock parts. Even with my light weight the stock Rock Shox forks would flex like noodles…drove me nuts because the bike would dump me over when a brake pad hit the front wheel…Change from nasty Shimano rapid fire shifter and derail ( yea I know you guys like those ) to Sram 09 8 spd , Sun 0 deg rims with Xt hubs xt cassette, xt b. b. and IRC mythos tires, Thomson seat post and my beloved seat which is on the Cuda now as you know and the cure to flipping me onto my head…Manitou sxr forks with lock out ! Thing rode smooth and sweet…but I wanted something far more lite and nasty…start of the Cuda build !- February 10, 2014 at 7:45 pm

You know I bow to you ” D ” but the whole reason I bought the S-30 was the fact that it did not bob. It locks out as they stated when out of the saddle for sure and just light reaction when seated, but in no way could you call me a big man and that might be why. I rode other FS mtb and they would bounce all over the place which drove me nuts coming from BMX and Road bikes, it just did not feel right !
