Mark, does this forum refresh itself automatically, and if so, how often? I’ve refreshed the page a zillion times and am wondering if I’m wasting my time doing so.- February 21, 2011 at 3:15 am

Don’t worry, we’re all nice here! And welcome to the forum!
I can’t help you with your questions as I am probably the least expert person here, but I’m sure the others will soon answer your queries in full. I just wanted to welcome you. ^__^

Don’t worry manbeer, you’d be at the top of my list if I ever decided to sell! I won’t forget you — you’ve been so generous and helpful without even knowing me!

I would suggest having your sister contact him directly as in independent interested party. Maybe that’ll work. Good luck!- February 19, 2011 at 5:02 am

Thanks Neo. Yeah, I think I’ll like the fork. The only reason I think I paid a little much is because I’ve seen some in better condition that sold for less, but I didn’t want to wait so I was willing to pay more for it.Here’s one I think I would’ve liked that no one even bid on. In the description it mentions Fairfax, CA, which is the town where I was born:

Well, I got the fork. I probably paid a little too much for it ($101 including shipping), but at least I don’t have to keep waiting and searching.- February 18, 2011 at 11:36 am

The A2T arrived today! Before it got here, I was imagining naming it baby mixalive (just to tease him for thinking bikes shouldn’t be anthropomorphised), but now that it’s here I couldn’t imagine naming it anything. It’s not a cute bike, but it is a beauty! I am so happy it’s finally here! Now I just need to get a fork so I can ride it.

I just got off the phone with the seller and this beauty is coming home to Colorado

Thanks to the OP for posting, I have to admit my craigslist searching has suffered in the past few months. I wouldn’t have seen the listing without checking this site.
Congratulations! That’s wonderful! It’s very rewarding to know I helped you find a Barracuda that you’ve been seeking for years! It means posting here is definitely worthwhile. ^__^

You don’t want to mess with that… it’s expensive plus you would spend a bunch shipping it over here. Check this one:
I can vouch for the Manitou Comp, I have one, they’re a good fork. Plus, you can rebuild them like Mix and I did with Wings Suspension springs. Offer the guy $60.00 with shipping included, he’ll probably go for it. If something happened and you didn’t get the Mani Comp on Ebay, you may be able to buy my Comp fork, Mix wanted it for his ‘Cuda Comp but I never heard back from him. Plus mine isn’t as faded as the Comp on Ebay. Mine has threaded steer tube, so you could pick up this nice NOS Barracuda stem, I bought one and it’s a beauty!
Good luck!

I thought that was a pretty fork, Neo. I was actually totally considering it, but I am too much of a slug and it was sold this morning.
I haven’t been posting much lately because I am trying to break my addiction to the computer and get other things done. I read your advice a while ago (thank you!) but didn’t respond earlier for that reason.

Here are a couple pics the person sent. He says it’s an 18″.

Here’s one that’s in really good cosmetic shape, MarK. It looks like it’s good all around, as it’s been rebuilt.I am still unsure about what fork to get. I actually bought and returned an old rock shox already because the action was very sticky. I was thinking of maybe getting a Marzocchi z-something because it had good reviews, but those are heavy.

There’s a Manitou 3 on Ebay right now, which I believe is what the A2T originally had, but I am a little concerned about the condition as I really know nothing about forks. Here’s the listing:
