Hey Terry,Mighty nice looking ride! I have the A2L(imited) in the gold and white, I wish mine looked as nice as yours!!! Forget about trying to clean and bring life back into your Manitou 4, the elastomers inside have gone to mush! The same happened to my Manitou 2 and my Manitou Comp. Here is a link to a single, clean spring replacement to the elastomer poop inside your Manitou:

He is also on Ebay, if that’s better for you:
I did a set of “hard” (grey/grey) springs in my Mani 2 fork, the hard are super stiff and that’s just what I wanted. I didn’t want a pogo stick! I wanted it to climb like a rigid but still have something for the big hits and that’s just what I got. I’m very pleased and I’m waiting to hear back from him on a set for my Manitou Comp.
I hope this helps, good luck and keep us posted!

Me too!!!I wold like to replace the decals on mine, just look at the paint on mine (in my profile) and know the decals are just as bad or worse.
Any and all decal scans would be so greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I’m curious, can anyone clear this up for me…Back on 9/10/10, ctk wrote, “I got in touch with Chris Herting to see if it was one of the frames he made for Barracuda. How cool would it be to have a Chris Herting built frame?!
Sadly he thought probably didn’t build it as he only built prototypes and team frames and didn’t remember the frames being green and white only gold and white.”
Does that mean that my 1993 A2L (Limited) was made by Chris Herting? It’s white and gold, no other year was the A2L made and only in that color scheme. I would love to know, anyone have any answers?
Thanks for your time!

Here is a link to Velospace, the first image is how it looked on Craigslist the mornig I picked it up (I know, nice mismatched crank), the other picture is stripped down with a SPIN wheel but not cleaned or polished yet. I’m rebuilding it right now, pics to follow.

First… Mark, thank you so much for seeing this through and bringing the site back up!!! I was bummed when it went down, then when I heard about your misfortune, I figured the site was a memory. I’m so stoked to see it back up! Not shovelin’ cheese… not like a Phoenix and ashes moment, just glad and hear things are better and doing well.Secondly, I’m really glad to see some recognizable names from the previous site have beaten me to register, I’m looking forward to seeing and hearin’ all things Barracuda!
Lastly, since the site went down, I’ve been forced to hit up the Vintage, Retro, Classic (VRC) forum over on MTBR… man, there are some bitchy, snobby, and down right f*cked up people on that board!!! However, that was the only place I found that a ‘Cuda might pop up, some days it was definitely not worth the b*llsh*t!!! So, glad to have a sight that understands what it is to own a Barracuda, thanks again Mark!
Peace’fo’real,
