Yeah, I was just given a “talking to” about my recent bike activities.
So, I’m laying low these days but it sure looks inviting. I may be in the same boat as you Mixalive, it might be a bit tall for me. It wouldn’t be the first bike I road that was the wrong size! I gotta let this one marinade.

All the booze and cocaine in the 70’s and 80’s mixed with a life of rich foods put Robin in the O.R. with heart surgery in 2009. Luckily a strong recovery thanks in part to his ‘Cuda and his buddy Lance and he’s back and continuing to bring the laughs! Did anyone see him on Letterman last night? He is still just as crazy and funny as ever, true genius!!!This picture of he and Mindy crack me up for two reasons… (one) he looks like he’s come in off a bender 😆
…and (two) CHEST CARPET… I mean CHEST HAIR!!! 😮
It looks like a monster crawlin’ up outta his acid trip pumpkin shirt!!!

Is that 20″ measurement center to center or center to top? I thought after I posted previously that 16″ might be too small and the frame was probably an 18″ frame but 20″ seems really big.

Welcome Mountain Goat, always nice to add a new Cudahead to the family… especially one who has a fondness for an A2Limited (aka A2L)! I am a proud owner of an A2L and I’d be beside myself if it were stolen. I’m sorry for your loss! My A2L has had numerous looks over the years 3×7 rigid, 2×8 suspended, 1×1 rigid (then suspended), 1×8 suspended, and finally back to the start with the old 3×7 XT off my ’91 Stumpjumper with a gold SC72 White Brothers fork up front. This set up has been by far the most enjoyable! I can’t say enough about the 7 speed XT shift/brake pods and the White Brothers “Factory Forx” being bombproof!I’m always looking for a second A2L, what size frame do you need? If I find one in your size, I’ll let you know.
Anyway, welcome!

Hey-I’m pretty sure that frame is an early Dagger, before they started using the Amp Research rear triangle. It looks like their downhill model with all the gussets and bracing.
Here is a link to RetroBike UK, it has a good write up with pics of a late 90’s Dagger with the Amp rear triangle… the frame (Easton Elite front, square tubing on the stays, Yeti/Ringle cable guides) similarities are still there, just a different pivot point and design.

Still a very doable price at $50.00, I would try to retrofit a used Amp rear triangle because the repair is hideous and I’d never trust that amateur job!!!

My wife is a sweetheart… absolutely nothing like me!Whenever I give my daughter a hard time, like whispering in her ear that the muffin top monster is going to eat her for a snack, I’m reminded that there is another side to my wife’s sweetness and I forget how hard she punches!!!

Right on!
Yep, my little one (soon to be 7) plans to tear it all up one day! Her hero is Missy “The Missile” Giove… she loves her fearless riding and her punk style. She always wants to watch the old mountain bike videos from the ’90’s. Pee-wee has these two pictures on her wall, they inspire her to push herself each day. I’m stoked that she is so into it… damn proud of my sweet angel!!!

Welcome Dave! Nice find on that ’95 A2R, that’s probably my favorite color scheme! If one ever crosses my path for a fair price, that’ll be my newest Cuda without a second thought! Glad you found the site, there is a nice collection of people for all parts of the country on here and we do a pretty good job of helping one another out. When you get a chance, post some pics of your Cuda in the Members’ Bikes. Always nice to add another Cudahead to family!Peace,

Congrats, nice score! Here is the catalog scan for the RS60… Paramount’s “DOWNHILL” bike… damn, things have changed in 20 years. I’m not positive which you have there, the ’93 came with a Paoli front shock and the ’94 had a Rock Sox Mag10 but you have a Specialized fork (like the one that cam on the suspended Stumpjumper). What derailleurs are on the frame? That’ll narrow it down.

Okay jcw_mtb, check out this sweet deal in your backyard:http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/2952220369.html
Here’s the info in it from Bikepedia:
Don’t sleep on this deal, only $75.00 for a seriously legit race bike back in the day! A new quality bike was $750 or so, the RS60 was twice that price! It was made in Japan from Tange Prestige, just like the Stumpjumper. The Paramount had a nicer ride and was higher end as far as frame construction because it was a lugged frame (like the early Stumpjumpers) instead of being tig welded like the Stumpjumpers from the same era. You will not find a nicer hardtail for the price!!!
Good luck and if you’re going to pass, please say so because I’d like to have it!

p.s. You could probably unload the the blown Paoli fork on Ebay for what you pay for the bike frame… uber rare high end race fork. You could always keep the fork and rebuild it, here’s a link to the rebuild kit:
http://www.spi-parts.com/paoli-shock-rebuild-kit.html
(It’s almost as much as the bike! 😮 )
