I would love to bring back the anodized 90’s! What price point and minimum are you talking? I’ll compare it with the guy I have out here. I hope your guy is cheaper! My guy claims the California EPA are busting him down and that’s why his prices have jumped so much in the last 10 or 15 years.@vpc66 wrote:…Neo has me hung up now with the single speed rides…was thinking old school with the canti brakes and ridgid forks steel frame…Simple fun ride…
steel… rigid… singlespeed… virtually bombproof with so little to go wrong!
Remember the REPACK!!! In 1978 Gary Fisher raced down Mt. Tamalpais in Charlie Kelly’s Repack Race in 4 minutes and 22 seconds on a modified rigid steel Pre-War Schwinn Excelsior. To this day, that time stands, even with all the high tech stuff, no one can better that time. So much can be said for riding ability!

Aw man, that sucks!!!
You should show him your Cuda can be a “beater” too… snatch your Cuda and start beating him with it!!! God, I hate him for that chain on such delicate Barracuda paint, unworthy bastard!!!

Nicest budget Cuda ever!!!+1 for down home cred too… keepin’ it in Austin with the LBS frame sticker is worth big bonus points in my book!!! It really turned out well… now you just need a few Cudaheads to pop by for an unannounced visit (carrying suitcases of PBR) and go for beer crit around your local park!
Really nice Mix!!!You must be bringing the misses flowers or spa treatments! It wasn’t that long ago that you were a momo-Cuda man… now you’re moving in on crazed Cudahead… 5 is the magic number and we put you in Cuda rehab!
Thanks for all the postings, it’s been cool to see and hear the stories along the way!
Adios amigo,

Vinny is right… loosen those clamp bolts on the stem and back off the stem cap bolt. It sounds like you sandwiched the by snugging up the top bolt. Easy He-Man! If it’s happening, you need to tear it back down (I know, sorry) and make sure all your bearing flaps are nicely seated around each bearing. Sometimes when you’re recycling a ball-bearing headset (or installing a new one), it’s easy for those tabs to be just slightly bent, and the result is metal on metal friction and your grease can’t do a thing to lessen it.Good luck!!!

The only set I have are in my Mani 2 fork, they are the “Hard/Hard” Wings springs… basically rigid unless you really hit something. I’m not using the fork, I opted for a 26″ BMX fork instead. Not sure why that guy dropped off the face of the Earth again (yes, he’s done this before). Maybe he went back to Germany for an extended holiday. You might want to check out this fork, it looks to be a great deal and is fully rebuilt by Hippy Tech (bonus as it’s period correct). If you pay the guy, I can always pick it up and send it to you brother Mix.

As a team South Africa came in last place in the 4×400 relay final… Oscar Pistorius ran the anchor leg in 45.09… a 100 meters in 45 seconds… that is the mark of a champion!!! To further my point, between the four runners on the South African relay team, Oscar ran the quickest lap… that inspires me to try harder, period!- August 9, 2012 at 12:20 am

I hope you did’t get your feelings hurt too bad about the front end stuff. We have been picking on everybody about that, and you just happen to fall in the crosshairs. Nothing personal. Just having a little fun..
These frames were not designed for such a long front end, which makes it steer kinda funky. And the rear V brake selection negates the factory cable routing.
But with a proper front end, correct brakes and routing, this bike should bring in $275-300. Add $50 for packing and $65 for shipping, you would have a good $400+ vintage bike.
You might make more on it if you part it out. Shipping on just a frame might be more attractive to a buyer. Just saying..+1
Too true brother Mix! Those extra costs ruin any “good deal” to be had 😡

http://bamendaonline.net/blog/bamenda-bike-thief-burn-to-death/Dang! I thought I had a twisted streak… Cometdata, you sir are one sick puppy! How do you even know about sites like that? Truth be told though, when it comes to picking teams based on purely survival… I want you on my team for sure!!!
The savagery and violence that you’re suggesting must be the result of living in a country that does not allow hand guns!!! Just kidding
