Boy, now there’s a new one for me… never heard of HP chains out of Taiwan. I saw your previous posting and when you said “HP” chain, I assumed you meant it was a Shimano HG chain that most 7 and 8 speed grouppo ran back in the day. KMC is from Taiwan and they make nearly all the chains for everyone aside from Campy, sorry to bust your bubble if you’re a Shimano or SRAM fan. That’s a bizarre chain, I’ve never seen one like it before… why would they stamp press the links to have strength in the center when that area has some of the least friction in the drivetrain?- December 21, 2012 at 2:46 am

Damn, sorry brother but you’re too late! I’ve attached a picture of the last one in Cali, we put her on a plane today… she should be basking in your Florida sun tomorrow! Enjoy!!!
p.s. You could probably catch her at your favorite watering hole tonight… lucky!
p.p.s. We sent her pet troll with her too, he’s pictured with her and her fat niece from Texas. Pay no mind to his hairy back or banana hammock!
p.p.p.s. Can you say floppy mooseknuckle?

Becoming old sure isn’t for the weak,I am just glad that while my body is falling apart my mind is still that of a sixteen year old….or is that senility setting in.
Memory is the second thing to go, I forget what the first thing is.
It would seem that the first thing to go is libido… given all the enhancement products these days. I wouldn’t know anything about that but I’ll let you old geezers chime in on this one! π

Hey man, that’s where it’s at for me, gotta turn the hands of the clock back a bit. No, I’m not talking about some facial cream, I may be from the land of bullsh*t vanity… but I’m no p*ssy! My goal when I turned 40 was to be healthier on my 50th birthday than I was on my 40th. I went nuts up through my mid-30’s until I got married, then decided I needed to be an example to my little one, so I’ve been “improving” ever since. I figured I could pull it off in 10 years, get a little better each year. My pop turned 75 this year and he is going strong! Just after his 70th birthday, he had a mild heart attack and ended up in I.C.U. with tubes coming out of him. At that time he was 5’10” and weighed 239; now he is down to 155 which is the same weight he was in college on the track and baseball team. The doctor told him a few weeks ago that he’d actually like him to be closer to 170 since he was a little thin. I gave me dad my Bowflex so he could put on a few pounds of muscle. I’m thinking that I could pull the same results in the next 7 years and cut loose for my 50th… Christ, that sounds old, especially since I didn’t think I was going to make it past 25!!! Ha… was I ever wrong… now I’ve been domesticated! πp.s. Yes Vinny, that is senility setting in… sorry…

@mixalive wrote:The Sunset Valley greenbelt (the one I have been riding lately) is pretty short. Good for about an hour and a half ride of amateur singletrack and doubletrack.
About 2 miles away is the Barton Creek greenbelt. It is about 6 miles one way of some serious singletrack.Sounds like you have some good options depending on how much time you have and how you’re feeling that day. Nice!
Any of you other Cudaheads have anything to contribute?
Oh, what temps are we talking Mix & Vin? The rest of your too!

Hey T., are the pics you’ve posted that same greenbelt that’s near your home? If so, how long is the greenbelt? Is there a loop? In Fullerton, the next city over, there is a 13 mile loop “The Fullerton Loop” aka “The Loop” that gets a big crowd daily.

Ah, great minds… very nice Mr. W.W., excellent choice in pedals! You know the thing with those Triple Traps that’s deceiving is the amount of damage they can given given their tame look. Obviously, they don’t have that DAMN! Look at those teeth! (like the Sharkbites do) That double row of triple shredders took way more skin off that even the Bear Traps! The Triple Traps are what gave me that big flat scar ala cheese slicer with chunks of skin on the square block teeth that I discovered when I got home!
Well Vinny, I wouldn’t go so far as to call it racing BMX… more like a bunch of fat, out of shape (myself, very much included) guys in their 40’s and 50’s riding around a track on bikes they could never afford as kids! That jackass that took me out was on a gorgeous Hutch with Bear Traps, super stylie, but no track skills! I’ve almost totally lost interest because it’s turning into losers lunch out there with half the guys are rubes or nubes… I don’t bounce back like I used to… I just hang my head and roll the bike to the truck (cursing all the way)!
