$300.00 Buy It Now with shipping for a Tange UltraLite steel Cuda is a tasty deal… I have 5 projects going presently… oh yeah, I’d catch hell if that box showed up on my porch!!! Hopefully whoever snags it finds our site and joins the family.

    Hey zoltanka79,

vpc66 is right on the money again as always, being your 1994 A2T is made with AeroLite chromoly steel and not the Easton aluminum like the 1995, you are good to go. The extra 35mm of travel that your newer fork has will affect the steering some but there is no way you’re going to pop those tig welds. You probably want to examine it closely before or after rides for crazing in the paint from stress on the head tube. The steel is not going to crack like the aluminum frames… lucky you! Just watch the handling on the descents, it may be wonky at higher speeds. I had a Manitou Ti SX with 85mm of travel on my A2L and I didn’t dig the sloppiness, so I swapped it out for the White Brothers SC72 and it’s stayed in that configuration ever since. These older frames do well with 65-75mm of travel, any more and it’s going to get squirrelly.

An abundance of A2M Cudas lately… was that the big seller back in the day? A solid mid-price bit of goodness…

    Cool man, nice score!!!

Did you haggle with the guy on the price or did you just hit him with the $700 price drop? Either way, that’s a great bike and he’s lucky you came along because that bike would have sat there for years with his asking price!

    Hola flaco loco…

Remember Derek I live in Mexifornia, aka SoCal, so you’d be thought of as the crazy skinny (white) guy…

Listen my good brother, that FL1 is dog! A buddy of mine was trying to get me to swap frames with him, I spent half a dozen rides trying to make that FL1 a winner and it never happened. If you’re in need of a great frame, I might have what you’re after and all you’d need to cover is the shipping. The poor man’s Yeti Ultimate tribute I built last year isn’t sticking around, I need to rob parts from it for a new build. If you’re into the frame, you’re welcome to it, I can include some of the parts like the Shimano Octalink 105 crank and matching bottom bracket, Shimano 105 front derailleur, and the CODA Team cantilever brake calipers. Throw some cash my way for the parts and cover the shipping and you’ll have an awesome replacement for your Avanti!

    Let me know…

    Peace,

Your A2B is a “Trees” original (1996 or earlier), check it against the catalog photos in the BIKES tab on the header page, specifically the color in 1994 or 1995.

Again, really glad to have you in the family!

In the immortal words of Chick Hearn, the voice of the LA Lakers… “No harm, no foul…”

I’m not down to call names my man, I get it, you’re simply trying to preserve whatever miniscule bit of libido you have left at your crusty old age…

(stupid laughing smiley still doesn’t work!!!)

It’s outtta love compadre, it’s outta love!

    Hold your horses amigo…

Mike Sinyard might be a less than stellar individual but so is Gary Fisher and all the other millionaires that like to wear the just a “little bike guy” jersey. I’m going to leave it there. I’ve owned numerous Stumpjumpers over the past 20 years, you have to remember that Team Specialized brought us “Deadly Nedly” Ned Overend and many other greats that fueled the fire and built the sport of mountain biking in those early days when it all looked questionable. I would never do anything that diminishes or detracts from the fact that Ned was the true king of NORBA Championship (’86,’87,’89,’90,’91,’92) and he was a fine diplomat (just like his dad, a US diplomat) for the sport he loved. Big V., ride your Specialized with pride, that bike is from a golden period in mountain bike history and deserves to be ridden and enjoyed! I like to look at it from the standpoint that someone spent good money on that bike, it spoke to them, and kudos to you for keeping that mojo flowing!!!

Check out his cool bio on his Specialized page, I dig the fact that they keep him on the payroll!

    Hail to the king!!!

(but Johnny T. is still my all time hero… but I do have a framed “Deadly Nedly” art print from his 1990 induction into the Mountain Biking Hall Of Fame)

Okay… well, I like cajun food and creole women… and beer…

I’ve enjoyed much of all three delights… oh, and I’m a Native American Euro-Mutt.

    Welcome to the Cudahead family!

    Cheers!!!

(Seriously, I just tilted a Fat Tire Ale for my southern relatives, Black Foot In’juns from the bayou)

I’m sure there will be many more disgraceful moves ahead by Specialized… lest we forget that it all started when Mike Sinyard bought a frame from his buddy Tom Ritchey and took it to Japan to be mass produced in 1982 and the Stumpjumper was born. Up to that point Specialized had only been a parts distributor, mainly Shimano who he was leveraging against Suntour at that time. If a bike manufacturer wanted bolt and go parts from Shimano they had to deal with Sinyard, more leveraging, especially against the small guys. Specialized has had a long history steppin’ on toes and rufflin’ feathers and I’m sure there’ll be more where that came from.

Heck no! Still trying to crawl out of the doghouse from my last bike purchase. I was being hopeful that missourishawn will be able to talk Krystle into dropping it off at a LBS in town and it would then find a loving new home in his stable.

    Ha-

I surf year round and I refuse to wear a full wetsuit ever, I’m proud to say I’ve never owned one… that said, frickin’ turtlehead is the norm when 68 degree goodness in the summer turns to 53 degrees and the junk’sicle sets in!!!
