- in reply to: Cudarider has NOS decals on Ebay
In my opinion, these decals aren’t worth much at all.If you’re placing them on a bike, you are effectively restoring it, reducing e value. Repro decals done right are just fine and you wouldn’t be able to tell.
I have a lot of oem decals which I scanned and had done up in illustrator, so we are covered except for a tree amigos decal, some tubing decals and model-specific decals, but again, these are easy to do..

My feeling is that you will need a new stem. One with more rise. Depending on make, not too expensive.- September 23, 2012 at 4:07 am
- in reply to: Barracuda Trade name & Trade Marks for Sale
The auction is also for the intellectual property of Barracuda Bicycles. If there were any plans, drawings, or anything else when Barracuda was purchased by Ross, those would now be for sale. Pretty cool stuff to a collector, really. But who knows what’s actually there now. Might just be the right to use the name.- September 19, 2012 at 6:37 pm

Wow!I’d buy this just for that box! Did anyone catch the spelling mistake there? I wonder how many of those went out the door back in 96/97..

- in reply to: A2BS 16" Ebay U.K. £50$80 Start (RudgwickSussex) Advice!!
Here’s where the water gets a little murky..Think about things from a standpoint of stock. When the original company went under, the new company picked up the pieces and tried to keep all things as normal and similar as possible.
I believe we’ll end up seeing some post 95 models with some similarities to the pre-95 models. Ross might have manufactured a few new frames and used up old stock (stickers, etc) while they had them.
I don’t believe we’d see any prototypes of the lower end models.

- in reply to: Lance vs USADA/UCI/FDA/etc. vs Cycling
This is a great thread and I enjoyed reading each post. Lots of food for thought on this one.I was never a big Lance Armstrong fan, but I did respect him and his training methods. Reminded me of watching Rocky IV, and you go back and forth watching the Russian (Ivan Drago) training with all the most high-tech equipment and then Rocky walking in waist deep snow with half a tree on his shoulders.

At the time, I simply thought Lance was utilizing every means available to him in order to become the best athlete he could be. Now that it appears as though he was doping, it doesn’t really change that view. He’s still a guy who used all means available to dominate his sport.
I don’t agree with stripping him of medals, because I think the tarnished image is enough. I mean, we don’t look at Jose Conseco and Mark McGuire the same way we regard Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth, right? To me, that’s punishment enough.
In the fitness world, there are competitions which everyone knows the athletes are doping, and then there are “clean” federations, where it’s just mother nature and a good training regimen. I don’t see why we can’t have something similar going on in the sports world. For those who want to dope, fine. But you’re going up against known dopers too. Good luck!
My 2 cents.

LOL!Nah, nothing this elaborate. Just got my son the 14″ A2T that was posted a little while back. I had posted the message above prior to dealing with the seller, and it turns out she’s fine with shipping it up to Toronto.
My son is ELATED. Seriously, he constantly asks about getting his own Cuda, and now he’s got pretty much the 2nd best model made in 94.
Now to get over my fears of each scratch making their way into the tubeset as he hones his trail skills..
