If you type in Barracuda mtb for sale they come up as bikes sold across the pond, but his frame looks like the Cuda bikes here and I believe he stated that he can not find history of the model which I gave it a shot myself and the model name came up tied to those yet no picture or info…must say it is kind of cool, he bought the thing new, has papers for it but it is one that tracking down history is a pain.     Isn’t there a Barracuda bike company in Britain that was separate from the Durango one? Still a very good looking rig though. And welcome to the family.

    By the way, my mom was born in Hexam, near Newcastle on Tyne. :)

    Yes they are the silver hubs. They have been hanging in the guys garage for 10 years. $20 for the set, I feel kinda guilty. 🙄

    It’s not the size of the grips, Vin, it’s how you use them. I prefer bar tape myself. Grape flavor.

    Thanks D and Vin. I have disposable income and time to spend it now. :D Found a NICE Trek Single Track maybe for the build. It’s about 70 miles away but only $50 so I am weighing it. No final decisions yet. The threaded headset is kind of holding me back. Gonna pick up some period correct Mavics with XTR hubs tomorrow.

    Yes, cassette, not cartridge. TDK not Atari. And no, I was thinking about swapping the cassette from one of my old 7-speed wheels to an 8 or 9 speed. I have a nice set of wheels from my Trek Single Track (stolen a few years ago).

    I’ve had all theories from different cops, pawn shops, friends, etc. “Transient from point A to point B then trade it for a crack rock” “It was a professional” “Are you sure you locked it up” yada yada yada….

    Here’s the kicker…. I brought my ‘Cuda inside the employee break area today, and was asked by the owner “Who said that was ok?”

    Me, “I was told it was common practice for employees (and I am management), especially since this is a high-risk bike theft area, and I had my bike stolen day before yesterday, and I paid $50 for that lock”

    Owner “you were told wrong, but let me think about it, I don’t want that room turning into a bike rack.”

    Guh.
