I have been riding the crap out of the A2MS, even poached those bad ass wheels off of the AXIS and the 7 speed group off the Haro and put them on the ‘cuda frame. It’s slick and silent.

Oh and I was gonna say, I have built two late 70’s El Caminos. The smaller body, *’78 and ’79. On I put a 350 in one and the other I put a small block 400. They were beasts. The 79 I did a 6″ cowl scoop (right turns were scary, couldn’t see over the hood) with an air pan to ensure cold air to the Holley. 3:42 Auburn trac-loc, It red lined at 112mph but it got there in a hurry. But my point- no weight over the rear end and you could steer with the gas pedal (I think they call that drifting these days).

I finished the stingray and ended up selling it, someone made an offer I couldn’t refuse and it went to a good home. I actually interviewed him. Blue collar guy that has done well for himself in construction. I do have pics but my phone is in the bedroom and wifey hasn’t stirred yet. I’ll post them soon.

Is that one of the old wedge motors?

I picked up a couple of things for the Stingray build today.

My mom had a masters degree in French, then went on to get her Chapter 1 Facilitator (delayed reading) endorsement. We would travel during the summers. I remember we had a brand new ’89 Ford Taurus that we would tow a pop-up Coleman camper with and just hit the State Parks all around the country. We managed to hit 47 of the lower 48 over the course of several years (I was 14 years old and did most of the driving one summer, she couldn’t back a trailer!) . California and Hawaii are the only States I haven’t been through. I have been to Alaska but I did that on a rented BMW motorcycle out of Seattle much later in life.

She had the option of a 12 or 9 Month Pay plan. She teetered back and forth for that choice and both have their benefits and drawbacks. Champagne taste on a beer budget.

Good lord I am getting a travel jones just thinking about it.

Although I live in Utah, the recreation Mecca, I have vowed to return to a park near Little Rock, Arkansas the made an impression on my young mind.

Damned yankees. Utah has a pretty good mix. Had a swarm of folks from San Antone in my restaurant yesterday. Spotted them immediately.

I got to cleaning and lubing the Axis today. Freed up the headset, Though I’d like to have the caged bearings instead of all the little balls. Any suggestions? It’s nice and slick right now but for the future I don’t wanna mess with putting them in one by one. You know, like prom night. 😈

Also – it still doesn’t ride hands free very well. You think that might be the old Panaracers? They are actually still in very good shape. Barely showing signs of dry rot.

***EDIT*** It was the tires. I just installed a pair of new Kendas and it rides like a magic carpet. All you have to do now is think “avoid that manhole cover” and it does it by instinct.

We have a keeper unless someone wants to double my money.
