@Mark wrote:You know, I’ve always considered the Scott Unishock one of the first cool suspension forks. So few parts, such a simple design. I’m jealous you have one in original packaging!
I think they are cool too, got them from ebay in Poland!
Didn’t get rave reviews back in the day but they’ve won a World Championship, they are superlight and I reckon they’ll be great for this build- here’s a mock up pic… They match the paint too

Sounds like an interesting build there was one on German Ebay recently which was thinking of picking up. My thinking was the same as you- ideal as a singlespeed.
Get some pics up.- October 1, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Small update- I’ve got these Scott Unishock forks to go on it.
I have a stash of other bits but need to do some more hunting & I’m on a tight budget at the moment…
I’m going to try and ‘customise’ the decals to match the frame and then get them printed off. I need to find a decent Tree Amigo image and one of the A2X logo too.- September 14, 2010 at 9:03 pm

@Mark wrote:By the way, for what it’s worth, your seller was the same as mine, when I picked up my own 93 A2X.
What a coincidence- he did say he bought 2 from the closeout sale. A really good guy.
On Bikepedia it lists this frame (& nearly every other 93 bike) as being made of Aerolite Cromo. Anyone know anything about Aerolite? Or where Bikepedia are getting their info from??

Gerat looking bike- cute in the small size!
Mind you it looks pretty stretched out for a 14″ frame- racey, lots of clearance, lots of fun!John- write a book! I don’t know much but from what I have read I know the story of Barracuda is a very interesting story… I want to know more.- September 10, 2010 at 9:39 pm

I got in touch with Chris Herting to see if it was one of the frames he made for Barracuda. How cool would it be to have a Chris Herting built frame?!Sadly he thought probably didn’t build it as he only built prototypes and team frames and didn’t remember the frames being green and white only gold and white.
Also all the team frames he built had the riders name or nickname stamped on the BB.
Now I’m sure its a US built frame but who built it?
The Craigslist ad said Yeti Built & the seller picked up 2 frames from the infamous Barracuda sell off. He was pointed in the direction of the sale by a Yeti employee (a friends dad) who said it was a chance to pick up a Yeti built frame cheap…
