Contacted the seller and they have said it is an unused frame, they could not remember the year of the frame.
looks like 97/98 from the green and white, though the rear hanger that you mention was there a certain year when they started to use replaceable hangers?

I have been using the following for just over a year now

the same as Neo http://www.yakaz.com searching “barracuda bike”

    for searching Ebay sites
    http://www.retrobike.co.uk/auction/

Searching in title and description option at top of page and only searching “Barracuda”

But the best one which I think you will want to use Mark is
    http://www.adhuntr.com/
This searches all of craigslist and has options to search the following classified ad sites:
    Backpage
    Ebay Classifieds
    Kijiji
    Oodle
    Gumtree
    Ebay
    Amazon

    I search “Baracuda bike”

    Hope this helps you out

pretty soon it’ll be down to $125.00 like that XX Team frame… I wonder if that buyer will try to get $500.00 on Ebay for it too? 🙄

I agree, give it another month and it be on ebay.
The one the person bought and tried to flip on ebay is still for sale on craigslist for the $500.

I know its a little faded but surely its still worth a buy?

I had a look at the bike section on the site and the only all black model I could see was the UAV 93, did they make the model for longer than the one year?

Those british Barracudas you speak of are not to be confused with the American brands. Different company completely.

Do you know who owns the rights to the Barracuda logo and name now after Ross stopped making them?

Also a few years before I purchased my Cuda in 97, there was another barracuda brand in the mountain biking mags here in the U.K., I have not seen many with this logo design but there was one on ebay today that ended. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251087711139
Does anyone know who was making this one?

    Thanks Mark and Neo

I know that a few friends bought a couple of the Cuda’s after trying mine when I brought it back to the U.K., There was a store in U.K. importing them and selling them in the MBUK magazine. So I know the brand was getting some coverage over here but was probably too late, it is a shame they did not last.

Hi again Comet, the area you are talking about is where I am from and still live. I used both of Ted’s shops and wish I had bought the Cuda back when (was riding boring roadbikes at time) but then moved to good bikes and ended up buying Ted’s wifes frame after they stop selling Cuda’s…He sold the shop a few years back to spent time with family and ride more, but still shows up from time to time. And you are correct,he is a good person and does great work on bikes also..he built my rims for me about 12/13 years ago and they still run smooth and true. Anyways glad to know a fellow Cuda head knows some of my haunts and have enjoyed them as well.

    Vinnie

What a small world it is, I had wondered what happened to Ted and the store as the last time I was in Florida would have been about 5 years ago and I had noticed the store had gone and was a boat shop, So thank you for sharing the information Vinnie.

Unfortunately no I wont be bringing the bike if I win the auction that is,
Family holiday to Orlando to take my Daughter to Disney, Though if I manage to pick a few cuda’s up I will certainly head for the Hardrock track, that is if its still going as it was 15 years ago I last done the track.
