Thanks to neo_pop_71, I am now the proud owner of what I think is the “Holy Grail” of Barracuda’s. The 1995 XX Team Dos Equis Barracuda. It is confirmed to be a 14″ and has a serial number of KM4090028. It seems to be about 98% factory stock, only having different tires than stock. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 7 as passing, I would give it a 9.25. It doesn’t look like it has been ridden much. The frame is straight, no cracks, with very few scratches. I bought it for $500 off of Craigslist to include a tune up and shipping from Memphis, TN. Sometimes you just have to trust that when you send your money, you get what you paid for. The seller went way over and beyond for the sale and I couldn’t have appreciated it more. Again, a special thanks goes out to neo_pop_71 for finding it for me.

    Terry,

That’s awesome man! You made that happen, I simply pointed out the ad, and to land The Holy Grail… it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy! You busted your rear at SXSW (100+ live shows is crazy) and now you’re enjoying a very sweet reward! You better buy something special to share with your wife and that darling daughter (gotta keep a happy home ;) )!

    Enjoy it with pride!

p.s. I’d be stretchin’ the truth to share I wasn’t a bit jealous of your stable… a Cuda Comp and XX Cuda in the last 6 months… damn!!!

    That’s a slick bike!!!

Incredible job on the restoration… thanks for doing such fine job documenting the entire process, it’s been a pleasure to see you pull this one back from the ashes… you’ve earned every moment of joy riding your “Grail”!

Enjoy it with pride, my brother!!!

Yeah mix, it looks great. I the flash of the red post was cool but i’m a huge fan of thomson and it looks a little more tough with the black post so slightly different look than the red but equally as cool.

It is hard to explain the quality of a Thomson post until you have one in your hands. It is just too bad they don’t sell them in red.

I agree, there is a guy on ebay that annodizes thomson parts but I havent seen him do seatposts and it wouldn’t be the same anyway. On my 08 full suspension stumpjumper I have a Nuke proof warhead post and it is very similar to the thomson. I put it on there as kind of a tribute to my A2M, one of the highlights of that bike were the nuke proof carbon fiber hubs that I had on it so I figured I’d put somthing nuke proof on the new bike.

I thought I would combine some images of the XX Team with the greenbelt I have been riding lately.

Great pics Mix, thanks for sharing! I see you have your black leggings on, trying to cover up those sexy gams? You big tease!!! I really respect the fact that you ride your bikes, no trophy bikes that never see dirt, I think that’s super cool and it must feel great to ride your Dos XX after the frame save! It looks like you have some nice areas to toss some dust around… just one more thing to enjoy about Austin! You truly are a legit Cudahead (with sexy gams ;) )!

It was 34 degrees as why I needed the leggings. But thanks for the complement, yo..

I think I will take the A2R out today..

A couple of updated images of my XX Team at a ride in August 13. I can report that I really like the shifting and the brakes on this bike.

    Hey T.,

Diggin’ the XX Cuda for a couple reasons, you landed the bike you were always after, and for the amazing frame save!

My years of BMX riding and racing demand I be open minded to others’ set ups, never for me to say what is comfy for one set of cheeks over another… that said, your saddle position looks really uncomfortable to me. Is that your chosen riding position? I’m not takin’ a piss and tryin’ to twist ‘ya up, I’m just wondering if the seat is how you want it or is it just an angle issue when you snapped the photo?

” D ” you look at the picture of his stable of bikes against the fence and you will see that all of his bikes seat are set the same….I noticed that right off, but like you figured that is the way he likes it so who am I to say different. You guys hate Scram and I love it…grant you would NEVER catch me with anything under the top model because the low end SUCKS! RIDE ON T….Your bikes are badass even with the saddle tip down!!!!!

P.s…. If you look at some of the new saddles the nose is tip down to reduce pressure on the ” NERVES ” (if that is what they want to call it so be it ) while doing climbs or something like that.
