I received the 94 Cuda Comp I won on Ebay. Fedex lost it for a couple of days in Victoria, TX, but it finally arrived. It is confirmed to be a 14″ and has a serial number of AX3100027. It seems to be about 96% factory stock. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 7 as passing, I would give it a 7.9. It looks like it has been ridden pretty hard. One of the rims needs trued, all wheel bearings need attention, front tire is dry rotted, fork needs rebuilding and the frame is pretty much scuffed up all over. But, it is all there, the frame is straight, no cracks, and I am thrilled to have it. I still think it was worth what I paid for it. It will be an 8.5 by the time I am finished with it.
And, I got a bicycle shipping box to boot..Here are some images after I cleaned it up.

Nice touch, my man, looking mighty fine in full XT dress! Proper Cuda COMP!!!- February 4, 2013 at 3:41 pm
Man.. My chain is slipping over the top of my middle crank sprocket. I isn’t slipping over the small or large one. I guess it needs to be replaced.- February 4, 2013 at 6:36 pm
Worn teeth I take…You use the middle ring more than the other rings?- April 24, 2014 at 1:17 am
I pulled out the CudaComp today for a ride in the neighborhood greenbelt. The CudaComp rides great. I only crashed it twice today.. I hadn’t been out on the trails since before Christmas and already, some idiot is trying to block my trails. People are getting a little too possessive over the big conglomerations property.- April 24, 2014 at 1:47 am
Mix do you have a riding buddy? The way people are these days, maybe you should not ride alone….hate to sound paranoid but that is how it is now. They just had a write up about MTB riders packing in case of animals of the two and four leg type !- April 24, 2014 at 12:16 pm
You are right. Things are squirly in the woods. I am packing protection when i ride.- April 25, 2014 at 2:41 am

Are those that you’re packin’ ribbed, lubed, or mixed?
Is that where “mixalive” came from… the style of Trojan you prefer?
-sorry-
(I couldn’t resist)

That was also the year in advertising that gave us Spudz MacKenzie and “Where’s the beef?!!!”

Bike safety and thieving scum bags has dropped on my doorstep. One of my old customers going way back stopped by the house to see if I had any lugged steel frames. I haven’t done much work for the guy in the last few years because he got heavily into modern carbon road and CX stuff. He told me that earlier this week he was riding the paved bike path that goes to the beach when a guy jumped out from a blind corner with a knife and stole his bike. It was a one of the last high end Cannondales (with full Campy 10 speed) before they went full China with everything. The guy is older and not a big guy so there was no chance of fighting the guy off. He said the police did basically nothing, they took a report and gave him the awful stats about how many bikes are returned to their owners. After showing him a frame, I pulled out my SOG tactical knife, it goes everywhere I go… especially when I ride! The SOG Flash II knife is really great, I’d highly recommend it to all of you regardless of whether or not you already carry. The spring assist blade (“S.A.T.”) is open in a fraction of a second, once open the blade is securely fixed with no slop. The knife was developed by and for the Navy Seals. If my customer would have had the knife, possibly he could have defended himself instead of watching the guy ride off on his $4,000.00 bike.

In this case not so sure about a knife being pulled. Has the guy done any form of training..the ass that jump him I bet has been in more fights. I say this with a heavy heart because I hate the things, but they make a person a force against somebody that knows how to fight as long as they stay out of range….GUNS…the great Equalizer !
