From a ’93 Preview article in the November 1992 MBA Caption reads:
“Barracuda A2X Racer: With the help of their pro racer, Lisa Muhich, Barracuda bicycles has designed frame sizes to specifically accomadate the smaller rider. Starting at a 12″ size, Barracuda will produce a full range of sizes that will be made both in America and overseas. The Lisa Muhich replica retails at $2364.”

Actually I’m not sure if this is Lisa Muhich’s bike or if it is a replica. Anyway interesting differences from my A2X are:
The paint is faded from white to green rather than a hard edge.
Cable guides including brake noodle are on the drive side.
Dropouts have a cut out- maybe are cast rather than machined?

    Looks like a 29er doesn’t it?!

I’ve never been a fan of the composite wheels, myself. I wish they had dressed it up a bit more like a XC racer than like they did. Also, the frame is green in the rear, but the pic doesn’t do it justice.

I can’t wait to build up mine!

After looking at this a bit more, I’d say that this is the same *model* and size that Lisa may ride, but I doubt it’s her bike. There aren’t any sponsor decals which would normally adorn a team bike.

This is a picture straight out of the ’93 Catalog for the A2X. Doesn’t say anything in the catalog about it being Lisa’s bike.

    Hey Bones,

Do you have the complete ’93 Barracuda catalog?

If so, does it have any info on the “Crossfire” hybrid model? I was checking out ctk’s posting in the MARKETPLACE forum for a Crossfire for sale in Vegas. I’m interested in it but there is nothing online regarding that model. Please let me know, thanks!

    Best regards,

I see crossfire’s come up now and then, and I believe they were a 92/93 model.
