Did you ride your Barracuda today? I took my A2M to the Barton Creek Greenbelt this weekend. And the old bike kept up with the new high tech bikes just fine.
So don’t just keep those Barracuda’s hanging on your trophy display.. Ride’em

See what kind of attention you generate when you wear tight shiny spandex… not just the ladies that love it! You should have spun around and showed him the double moons over Austin.

We had a similar experience on a small group ride but this guy was using a camera, we played it cool after we spotted him and casually rode off, then we broke hard straight at him. The creeper ducked in the shrubs and wouldn’t come out. My buddy was giving him some lip, “C’mon man, we know you’re in there… if not we’re coming in after you!” He still refused and play ‘possum. We start rattling his sanctuary and the fool starts crying and screaming for us to go away. It was sort of sick in a pathetic way, small little man!!!

I had shipped one of my Schwinn’s to my parents house in Center TX last month. I have been in Center all this week cutting trails in the greenbelt behind their house. Dang.. Ten times more difficult than cutting the trails in Austin. Lots of under growth. But when I finish, will be a cool place to ride when I come to visit.
Center is in the heart of the piney woods in East TX. Surrounded by the Davy Crockett National Forrest.

Here is what this East Texas stuff looks like.. Pine trees and pungie sticks. Lots of red clay, some gentle hills and lots of creeks to traverse.

NICE, has the same feel of the flat single track areas to ride here, it would seem like home to me minus the old limestone quarries.

All right MIX, throwing some video our way. Was that part of the new trail you have been working on or stuff close to home?

That was outside the Sunset Valley Greenbelt down the street from my home in Austin. Still lots of work left on the East Texas trail.

[attachment=1:2ooalqvt]DosEquis31.jpg[/attachment:2ooalqvt]I rode the XX Team on Thursday in the Sunset Valley Greenbelt. I love how that bike handles and especially how it shifts. I do need to put a longer stem on it. I rode the A2R on Friday and tore the chain off of it. Crazy..

The answer once again is yes…… 19 miles of urban assault to and from work each way each day…… You guys know I ride a New Zealand built Avanti Ridge Rider (supposed to be my commuter) but my knobbie A2MS is my choice. As a matter of fact – The Avanti has sat in the trunk of my ’74 Lincoln for the last 3 weeks.

    Mine is the red one.

I wasn’t able to ride a Barracuda last week, being out of town and all, but I was able to ride the Ice Age Trail at Potawatomi State Park in Wisconsin on a rental. At 79 degrees, it was a lot cooler than triple digit temperatures of Austin, TX.

That is cool that you were able to make a run someplace different Mix, how much time and distance did you get in?
