Wonder if it is a member as they make reference to the site.In my opinion – this bike is SWEET!
This is a vintage 1995 Barracua A2V – Tree Amigos that looks 100% original to me from when Barracuda WAS Barracuda and not bought out.
I bought it from the ORIGINAL OWNER who bought it new in late ’94. I even have the original rockshox pump for the fork.
This bike is in extremely nice condition for being 17 years old – even the tires are original. It was used a college commuter bike – never on a trail! The pedals still have the test platforms as well. I measured the frame and it appears to be an 18″ measured from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube. The top tube measures 23″ center-to-center.
Here is link to info about the bike: http://www.barracudabicycles.com/bikes.html

Don’t beat yourself up chum… I’d never think of you as a hybrid weasel/rat abomination!- November 2, 2013 at 1:18 am
One should be able to laugh at their own SHORT coming…. 😆
There are good points to both sides !- December 14, 2013 at 10:01 pm
This bike is down to $850 now. Too high, Grasshopper, too high..- December 16, 2013 at 7:58 am
I’m liking all the ridiculously inflated prices for our beloved bikes! Seriously, I think it’s starting to get some traction with the sellers and flippers on Craigslist… I haven’t seen a ‘Cuda locally under $100 in well over a year… yet, I see plenty of Stumpjumpers, C’dales, and U.S. made Treks for $100 or less. The resale market on used mountain bikes has always been soft compared to road bikes from the same era, that said, I think our Barracudas are doing pretty well compared to others from the same vintage. Obviously, there are still good deals to be had if you move quickly and you’ve got a bit of luck on your side. I do national searches for ‘Cudas from time to time but so many of those tasty scores are snatched up and the posting comes up “Deleted by owner” and I know somewhere there is a stoked Cudahead being born!- December 18, 2013 at 3:36 am
I guess the upside is it makes our bikes more valuable.- December 19, 2013 at 7:48 pm
Two offers were made. I guess they were not acceptable.- December 20, 2013 at 1:45 pm
Offers were made and denied….guess after a few years of it sitting there they will catch on, o well !- January 30, 2014 at 1:50 am
Hi all, apologies for being MIA but this NY winter really took my ambition away as i haven’t rode in around a month. Anyway I thought what better way to get back into things then adding to my collection. Well I just picked up this one up for $400 (free shipping). I debated the price but figured I had way more into my builds and this one appears to be a time capsule.Anyway I will let you know how it rides when I get it.
Also my kid loved the Easton…he called it “purplicious”.

Cool man, nice score!!!Did you haggle with the guy on the price or did you just hit him with the $700 price drop? Either way, that’s a great bike and he’s lucky you came along because that bike would have sat there for years with his asking price!

no he lowered the listed price to $450 OBO with free shipping. I offered $375 he countered with $400 and it was done. The free shipping made th eprice worth it for me.Ron
