Just aquired this for my wife. The owner thought it was either a 1995 or a 1996 A2E. Any ideas? It has been powdercoated & could use a lot of TLC. Cant seem to find any serial numbers anywhere. :?:

Somethin’ bout an Orange bike…they call to me….

Ebay find…15 minutes from my house. $125.

XT Cranks, derailleur’s V-Brakes and levers, LX Hubs, Sram X-Ray shifters, New Salsa Skewers, New Specialized bar & stem, Rock Shox Psylo, all new cables & just tuned. Also came with XTR clipless pedals & a Cateye Strada Wirless computer. Seems to me $125 was a steal.

Even with out the standard Cuda paint job I like it, what is the travel with those forks? Cuda bikes were made back when a fork ran 63mm travel and a longer travel will change how they run…not like I can talk though, because I run 80mm on mine but still love it. You start running to long of travel and the TRUE ride of the bike is lost…still nice ride and for the price and parts and fact that it is a running bike with no work needed… NOT A BAD DEAL.

80mm to 125mm Adjustable. Its for my wife & we just enjoy riding, not like we’d know the difference or anything. I just found a guy who owns a decal business, He will print the decals for me. It ought to look good when I am finished. I’m thinking FSA Carbon Bars and stem & a bunch of anodised red bits.

I bought a 01 Gary Fisher Sugar 1 last year & totally decked it out, I’m also rebuilding a 98 Schwinn GSX for my son.

    I likey the orange..

I own one of those 1998 Schwinn Mesa GSX’s in the next size up (17″) and I like it. I use it for my rain trainer and night-time single track bike as it is outfitted with a dual Cateye light system.

I like the Schwinn to…that was another GREAT craigslist find $100, Hardly ever ridden. Some old guy had it, then found the NOS Manitous on Ebay for $40. Its my 11 year olds bike & he digs it. Now I’m just looking for a nice one for my 15 year old son…found a real nice Schwinn Homegrown that was close to my ball park for cash….just not for the distance & they would’nt ship it. :|

I bought my Mesa for $225 at a pawn shop in Bryan, TX in 2000. There is an image of my Mesa on my Fleet post.

Yes very cool. Thinking I may go custom on my old A2R, and very slowly. :D My bro in law is an accomplished hand-pin-striper, runs a body shop.
