Found this one I know its not classed as a true Cuda, but what do you think, I can actually get this shipped to the U.K. for £70/$110

    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170861655396&clk_rvr_id=356735867203#ht_3156wt_199
I have translated the listing to English below
    item number:170861655396
    Seller ID:thumsen007
Title:Barracuda XX Team of the 90s Vintage Mesh ESP, Rock Shox Indy
    Item Description:
For sale is a cool classic from the 90s with high cult factor!
    No immediate purchase!

Are you a collector bike freak or just looking for a good investment? Then they should look at this piece of cake once more. Experts know what is at stake here!

The frame is a Barracuda XX Team (height 53 cm, length 58.5 cm measured center to center). Made in the USA
The fork is a RockShox Jndy

    Rear derailleur: ESP
    Derailleur: Shimano XT
    Brakes: Shimano V-Brake
    Crankset: Shimano XT
    Gear: G r i p S h i f t
    Hubs: Shimano
    Crankset: Shimano XT
    Stem: Kore 140mm
    Handlebar: Cuda

The suspension forks and attachments all still work great. You’d have more than once to put everything back. The bike course is no longer new and therefore has the usual signs of wear, but it’s still a feast for the eyes! So you have much more fun … ;-)
This is a private sale without any warranty and return policy!

I did try for this one a few months ago for a XX Team in Australia, though the shipping was just too much to the U.K (£800/$1250)

I would have posted it back then but the seller sold it after enquiring about the shipping costs

listing is still on ebay with pictures etc (though probably not for much longer due to age of listing)

I’d grab it at that price. I have a 97, very similar to this 98, and it’s a nice solid ride.

I did not need much persuading I will be trying to get it,

I have been looking for about a year for a team or comp but never found any with reasonable shipping costs to the U.K. and I have never found one barracuda in the U.K. for sale, just all the cheap full suspension ones with the same logo. Ross must have sold the rights to the name/logo as the bikes bearing the same logo were only sold through shopping catalogues and were as heavy as a tank, basically cr@p things for about £100/$150. the other Barracudas in the U.K. seem to be not to bad and actually get good reviews in the Mags but they do not use the same logo.

Those british Barracudas you speak of are not to be confused with the American brands. Different company completely.

Do you know who owns the rights to the Barracuda logo and name now after Ross stopped making them?

Also a few years before I purchased my Cuda in 97, there was another barracuda brand in the mountain biking mags here in the U.K., I have not seen many with this logo design but there was one on ebay today that ended. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251087711139
Does anyone know who was making this one?

Ross would still own the brand and any trademarks.
