Hi Everyone,I’m Dave; live in Florida and have owned a ’95 Barracuda XX Team since purchasing it new in Florida. It’s still all original except the tires and tubes. I currently ride the bike around 80 miles a week on the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail. The bike still feels great and always turns heads.
I found the list because I’m looking for information on how to replace or restore my forks, which just recently lost all pressure and leak oil.
About a year ago, I noticed a cracked head tube and seat tube. I found a local welder who would work with aluminum, and he did a bang-up job welding the crack. It’s not beautiful, but it works. I’ll take some photos and post them shortly.
All for now,
Dave

Sorry to hear you had to deal with cracks on your Cuda, but nice to hear of another Florida Cuda rider. I have not been here very long, but can tell you it is a great site were the folks are friendly and helpful with info…- October 24, 2011 at 12:53 am
Welcome Dave! That’s a bummer that your XX frame got some stress cracks… that said, I think it’s really cool you had enough love for your ‘Cuda to get the repairs taken care of and it’s still hitting the trails! You have to check out Mixalive’s repair on his XX Team bike… it’s nothing short of amazing!!! Top notch effort by Mix. I’m almost looking forward to riding my A2L hard enough that it too develops a stress crack, just so I can send it to Mix for a repair job!
Anyway, welcome to the site… we all have Mark, the site builder and chief historian, to thank for all this goodness! Three cheers for The Grand Poobah!!!
