They look a lot like the original tires that I have on my A2T which are Onza labeled. I don’t know that Onza actually made them, but that’s the only brand on them. Tread pattern even looks the same.

Are white wall tires very valuable?

Just wondering how good a deal this bike is. The owner claims the tires are in good shape and she only rode the bike a couple dozen times, although the gear or something is broken, so who knows?

My whitewalls dry-rotted after about 10 years of hanging upside down in the garage.

Most likely the grease solidified in the shifter and the little lever inside isn’t falling in to the detents. very common for the old rapidfires to not click into position past certain gears or at all when the grease dried up, which often happened after they stopped having regular use

So basically it’s not worth getting then? I know you guys said it was a good deal earlier, but nobody’s gotten it, so… ?

The asking price is $100 offer her a little less and you have a good deal in my opinion you just have to put a little work into it. If it was an 18 or bigger and I lived close I’d grab it.

    Niika,

Google servicing the rapid-fire (trigger) shifters, a youtube link will pop about servicing them, 5 minutes and they’re like new. The “old” can be serviced and repaired, it’s the new garbage that’s disposable.

If not for the fact that shipping to ny would be an extra 100, plus another 50 should he have a bike shop “professionally” pack it i would be all over it. Good deal for someone a little closer though

Here is a page with video on how to perform maintenance on the Shamino RapidFire shifters. Excellent tutorial. I used wd40 to loosen it up and garage door lubricant from Home Depot for lube. Works great..

    Thanks for the tutorial, mix!

So, I asked my aunt who lives very nearby Sausalito to go pick this A2M up for me, but, as always seems to be my luck, for some odd reason the owner suddenly changed her mind about selling and said she’s decided to keep her ‘cuda after all. How weird! This was a while ago, but I didn’t bother mentioning it til now because I was holding my breath waiting for news from Bo about the A2T, which I finally got today — it’s been shipped and is on its way! Hooray!! :D
