The 1995 line was for many, their introduction to Barracuda.
1995 was a season which saw the widest reach in terms of audience and consumer. Helped by a very successful racing season and an elaborate marketing campaign in partnership with Dos Equis, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone in the sport who wasn’t acutely aware of Barracuda. Still, 1995 would be the final season for the brand. Financial pressures resulted in the decision for a quick sale to Ross Bicycles and the end of an era.
The bikes below represent the pinnacle of the Barracuda Bicycle Company of Durango, Colorado.

1995 A2Z
This is a perfect fit for those who aren’t interested in having a bike be one of their biggest investments. It’s a little less expensive than the A2B but has a lot of guts. It’s also a perfect fit for smaller riders because it’s available in a 10 inch frame.

1995 A2B
This bike is also available in a 10 inch frame. And although the price may make you think we skimped on it’s design, we can assure you that’s not the case. It’s packed with some killer components. Actually, it’s a lot tougher to build a bike we can be proud to put our name on…

1995 A2R
This is the lowest priced Shimano 24-speed on the market. But we definitely didn’t skimp. It’s got a double butted cromo frame and fork, race-proven geometry and all kinds of other performance features that have our accountants scratching their heads wondering how we made it so inexpensive.

1995 A2RS
Not only did we add an S to the A2R, we added a bunch of other extras that make it a little more racy. Like Marzocchi fully adjustable elastomer suspension and Grip Shift SRT-600 Index shifters, among other things. It’s definitely a fighter.

1995 A2M
Whether you’re on pavement or off road, you need a good bike that can handle both. And this is just the one to get you from point A to point B and even lets you have a little fun on the way. It’s a 7005 butted aluminum frame with loads of good stuff. It’s a…

1995 XX Team
Point this thing down hill and then hang on because you’re in for a hair-raiser. It’s got a 7005 butted aluminum frame, a Marzocchi XCR adjustable air/oil suspension system and lots of other stuff for the gonzo rider. This bike is fueled by guts and driven by gravity.

1995 A2V
If you are going to drool, don’t do it on the page. Of course we totally understand. This is a gorgeous bike in every way. From the Tange Ultimate Superlight frame to the Mavic 237 rims. It comes equipped with a Grip Shift X-Ray 800 and a cool metallic finish. This one’s a real head-turner….

1995 A2E
This bike is for the average rider who simply won’t settle for average. It’s high-performance without the high price. Like the A2V, it comes with a metallic-plated finish and a Tange Ultimate Superlite frame. It’s made with the same kind of quality and pride that go into all our bikes. Rugged and durable enough to…

1995 COMP
Faster. Faster. Faster. If this is how you live your life, this could be the bike for you. Designed for speed and built for endurance, it’s a two-wheel flamethrower ready to ramble, with an Easton Elan butted frame, XT group, Grip Shift X-Ray 800, race-level fork option and loads of performance stuff attached all over…

1995 A2T
For those of you with racing in your blood, this should get it pumping. Easton Program butted frame, Grip Shift X-Ray 800, Full XT group, Dia Compe PC11 levers, and race level fork option. Just look at this beauty. Now check your pulse.

1995 A2FAST
Too hardcore. Too psycho. Too much bike for the average rider. It starts with a sweet, dual suspension frame that features a Marzocchi fully adjustable front fork and a Noleen coil over rear shock, and too much else to mention here. This bike is amped and ready to take on the most wicked terrain.

1995 UNLTD
How did this bike get it’s name? Well, when we began designing it, we didn’t put any limitations on what we could do. And wouldn’t you know it, we wound up with a bike that doesn’t have any limitations either. It’s a vicious man-eater of a bike built for extreme conditions and extreme riders. In…
