diamondback WCF 4.0 frame - Worth a build?
diamondback WCF 4.0 frame - Worth a build?
Thinking of picking this up if still available. The High Sierra Neo posted sold so I am still on the hunt.
Is this worth $75 and worthy of a rebuild? Or maybe I should go with Mix's new A2M.

There's a soft spot in my heart for Diamond Back frames. Especially the ones with the WILD paint jobs from 92-94.
My Stable:
93 A2X, 94 A2X, 95 XX Team (Eric Carter tribute), 96 XX Team, 97 XX Team,
Barracuda - Totally Driven!

I am really drawn to this color scheme

Yeah that's pretty sexy. My wife rides DBack. It's another one of those "before it was a WalMart bike" things similar to the Ross 'Cudas.

When I see the name I think of early 80's BMX bikes as a teen, but with that paint job it sure would look cool with the right parts !
Relax and have deep water thoughts.

Yes, some old steel Diamond Backs from the late 80's to early 90's were mighty tasty...
however, I'm no fan of carbon fiber, so I gotta say f*ck that Taiwan plastic!!!
Forget that mess and go get this parts bike... 9 spd XT, Bonty crank, SPD pedals, etc.

Tough call on the Gary Fisher. Looks like a steal at $75 but by the time I buy the fork, wheel and tire I am in for around $250-300 which looks to be the fair market value.
I would love to be into a bike at FMV (heck I'm prolly 3x over FMV on my A2L build) if I get the nostaglia impact. This one seems to be borderline vintage and I would prolly rather ride my new Jamis.
Thanks for the looks though...I am still mad that I missed the High Sierra you pointed out. I had the rode trip all planned last week and I was going to swing by and pickup that Parkpre for $100 as it was nearby.

Oh snap..... that's a Catalyst. Looks like a Smurf sneezed on it in the showroom, but those are seriously cool bikes. There is some vintage Diamondback DNA there.

With the Specialized and Lotus if I had that bike also, my friends would question my marriage and kids as a front...oh wait they already do with those two bikes...
Relax and have deep water thoughts.
