What size steer tube is right for the A2T?

1 1/8" and as long as there is about 6.5" of steerer tube left or more it should be sufficient for the head tube of that bike, which was pretty short.

yup....still jealous...guy that I worked for in the shop he co-owned has an A2T and I always loved it....but I love my Comp as well....it was my first MTB...bought it with the insurance check after my PK Ripper was stolen actualy.

I believe your comp has the same frame as the A2T right? I just looked at the serial number on mine today and it began with "AX" which would lead me to believe the only difference between it and the top of the line was the running gear
