Re: Hello from South Florida
Cool thing you found this site, I dig your story, the fact your 'Cuda roots go back 20 years and you're still brand loyal after all these years. Having built a number of commuters, I'd be interested to see how you've set up your A2R. Please post up some photos when you get a chance, thanks. Welcome,...

Re: Jackpot!
Right on... can never have too much print material, looking forward to seeing the 'Cuda booty! Hey Mark, is the A2Limited in the '93 catalog? One guy on Mtbr told me the A2L wasn't in any catalogs. Can you set the record straight? Maybe a photo or the catalog description, that would be great! Thanks...

All the better to see your vintage bits with, deary!
I've given up trying to mess with the photos on this site, if it takes mine as they are... great! If not, screw it, I'm not spending any extra time only to get them rejected a second time!

Re: Out with the new, in with the old
If it's an older shop, they should have plenty of older metal parts. Newer shops are a bit of a let down in my opinion as everything they tend to have in their mechanics' "spares" bin is carbon safe which means no metal. As for my build, I almost wish I didn't like the look of the bike so ...

Re: Out with the new, in with the old
That's about the amount of space I needed to shim the STI levers (23.8mm) I ran with the Soma Sparrow handlebars (22.2mm)... 1.6mm which converts to 1/16th of an inch. They sell shims for this exact size, call it roughly 1/8th inch you need to take up without needed to gorilla the seat clamp into su...

Re: Out with the new, in with the old
What area can you begin to mock up?
I say pick a spot and run with it, you'll feel like you are progressing, that's always a mental hurdle for me.
Keep up with the photo documentation too, you'll have a great pictorial by the time the Colson is done!
C'mon now...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new (vpc inspired)
Hey man, That's a great idea, I hadn't considered it but it totally makes for the perfect solution to my problem! Time to comb over Ebay for a double clamp stem, I recall them being big in the lat 90's when all those heavy double and triple crown forks with 100mm of travel hit the scene. Thanks agai...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new (vpc inspired)
I was thinking of going after all the chips and scratches because they are somewhat centralized around each other and going for the relic'd look (aka fake patina) but I couldn't make it work since I swapped the fork. No way was I losing disc brakes up front (especially after losing the disc brakes i...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new (vpc inspired)
Like the look of the old layback with the Nana seat, did you buff that frame out because the color pops in your picture unless you just have better photo equipment...looks good ! What crank set up do you plan on running..have seen old profile cranks used that look great by the way ! Cool job D ! Ri...
